The Design Process

Site survey and client brief

An accurate survey of the plot is needed before any designing can take place, this includes measuring the garden and plotting all existing features and plants to be retained, as well as soil conditions, ground levels, weather conditions and available light. I will also carry out an informal inter-view with you to gain further insight into your ideas, including what you like, and what you don’t, your tastes, requirements and budget, so that I can formulate a design brief. A design brief will then be compiled following on from our initial meeting and the site survey, which will be sent to you for approval. You will be given the opportunity to add any comments or further ideas. Based on these factors, I will draw up a concept plan.
