Wildlife Garden Design
Wildlife Garden Design – Walkely, Sheffield
Design Brief: To create a useable and wildlife friendly space for family to connect with nature.
Design: Divided sloped lawn into two levels with a drystone retaining wall (perfect wildlife habitat for invertebrates and small mammals, as well as a sustainable choice with no cement required for foundations or mortar, and reclaimed stone sourced locally). Batten fencing on either side with hedgehog gaps. Small wildlife pond on top terrace, with wildflower around mowed lawn space. Lower terrace packed with wildlife friendly planting and another lawn for kids to play. The client has even found the space recently to add a greenhouse and water butt. Amazing what you can fit in a small city garden!
